Retired NFL kicker, National Camp Series Founder (NCS) and current kicking coach Michael Husted announces the summer launch of the National Camp Series (NCS) events for 2012, with over 20 NCS events scheduled throughout the country in July conducted by some of the finest kicking coaches in the country.“NCS Associates are some of the best kicking coaches in the country and include many former NFL players, including coaches such as retired NFL kicker Mike Hollis and NFL punter Craig Hentrich,” says Husted. “NCS coaches provide the highest quality instruction to high school kicking specialists around the country.”
Husted says because of the quality of NCS kicking associates, and the introduction of the KIX IndeX (KIX) Player Rating System, things have never looked better for NCS.
"2012 is shaping up to be the best year yet for the National Camp Series,” says Husted. “After a strong 2011, and having introduced our Kicking IndeX (KIX) Player Rating System, we are positioned extremely well to leverage analytics to showcase our athletes, and to provide ‘objective high school kicking specialists statistics' to college and university coaches.”
Husted says that by utilizing its Kicking IndeX (KIX) Player Rating System, NCS provides an objective evaluation platform for student-athletes who want to showcase their capabilities to colleges and universities for recruiting purposes.
By sorting through over six years of historical event data, the KIX system determines a kicker’s rankings by cross-referencing player data to determine how the athletes stack up against others, both presently and historically.
"The NCS levels the playing field for those who don't want to get caught up in all of the 'politics' that occurs in the kicking industry,” says Husted. “If you can kick, punt or snap, the NCS KIX system will let a young kicking specialist’s skills speak for themselves. No excuses. No explanations."

Husted is a retired 9 Year NFL Kicker. His consistency on field goals and power on kick offs won him the job as an undrafted rookie. Michael went on to have a successful rookie season where he was named to Football Digest’s All Rookie team.
During his time with the Tampa Bay Bucs, Michael established several records including:
•All-time leading scorer (502 pts.)
•Longest field goal (57 yards)
•Most 50+ field goals (10)
After his NFL career, Michael was involved in an online start up, iPlayers.net in 2005. This innovative site at the time took high school recruiting from “snail mail” to the internet.
In 2007, the company was acquired by the Active Network in San Diego, CA. After working in the “corporate” world for a couple of years, Michael realized that one of his passions was helping athletes to leverage their sport for a college education.
Since that time, Michael founded the National Camp Series. This platform objectively measures kickers, punters and long snappers through statistics which takes out all subjectivity in the evaluation process.
